- Medullary syndrome: Patients with medullary syndrome often present with a failure to thrive secondary to nausea, vomiting, or dysphagia. Also seen with this syndrome are sleep apnea, dysarthria, and recurrent upper respiratory tract infections (8).
- Cervical cord syndrome: Patients with lesions that have a more caudal epicenter present with chronic neck pain and/or progressive myelopathy with spasticity and weakness (8).
