- Development of more effective chemotherapeutic agents: Drugs carrying fewer side effects might be important in the conservative treatment of hydatidosis (61, 62). Even with the use of presently available compounds, chemotherapy can be the initial form of treatment for small and multiple cysts located in eloquent areas of the brain in patients with no or minimal neurological deficits.
