- Poor data due infrequency surgery: There is rarely a role for surgery in the management of positional plagiocephaly. If cranial reconstruction is attempted, complications are similar to those encountered during surgery for craniosynostosis including blood loss, CSF leak, intracranial hypertension, and poor cosmetic result.
Nonsurgical
Molding helmet
- Low rate of skin complications: The rate of complications from molding helmets is low and includes poorly fitted helmets, skin rash, skin pressure ulcer and itchiness (26).
Positioning
- Unlikely: There are no significant complications from active positioning.
