- Acetazolamide: A carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, acetazolamide, will decrease the production of CSF and has been used to manage mild cases of idiopathic intracranial hypertension and benign extraaxial CSF collections. It is not recommended for the treatment of post-hemorrhagic ventricular dilatation (37).
- Steroids: Various forms of steroids have been used to manage hydrocephalus due to inflammation associated with conditions such as tuberculous meningitis (38, 39).
