oncolytic immunovirotherapy

Genetically modified viruses that target binding sites on cancer cells are injected in a patient with cancer and infect these cells. The viruses then replicate inside of the cells to a number that results in bursting of the cancer cell.  The released cancer cell’s proteins released as a result of its bursting then activates the body’s immune system to attack other cancer cells within the body.
