Tp53

Tumor protein 53 gene. A gene responsible for the production of a protein that detects DNA damage, initiating the cell’s response to it (by arresting the cell cycle, initiating DNA repair or apoptosis), and suppresses tumor growth. It also regulates gene expression involved with cell growth, differentiation and stress responses.
