Edward Robert Smith, MD, is an associate professor at Harvard Medical School and the R. Michael Scott Chair in Neurosurgery, Director of Cerebrovascular Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, USA (Edward Robert Smith).

Dr. Smith has been the President of the Young Neurosurgeons Committee of the American Association of Neurologic Surgeons and the Chair of the Research Committee of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Section and has held positions in other hospital, regional, and national organizations. He has been a reviewer and editor for multiple journals, including Operative Neurosurgery. He is a section editor for the Vascular Disorders Section of the ISPN Guide to Pediatric Neurosurgery. Ed has edited books on vascular disease and tumors and has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles on pediatric neurosurgical topics.

Dr. Ed Smith has lectured at over 50 national and international institutions, including Great Ormond Street in London, Seoul National University Hospital, and the University of Manchester. He has spoken at regional, national, and international scientific conferences, including the international Moyamoya Society Meetings, in addition to participating as an instructor at national and international educational courses on pediatric neurosurgery.
