IntraOperative Monitoring. Also referred to as intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring or intraoperative physiologic monitoring. This is the use of evoked physiological potentials (motor evoked potentials, sensory evoked potentials, brainstem ausitory evoked potentials, electromyography, etc.) to follow the function of the nervous system during surgery.
