Zsombor Gal is a medical student at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology and Certificate in Neuroscience. His undergraduate thesis focused on the first cell fate decision in mammalian development and was awarded the Sigma Xi Book Award for Outstanding Thesis Research.
Mr. Gal’s background in developmental biology and neuroscience, along with clinical experiences at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, fostered his interest in pediatric neurosurgery, and he is particularly interested in cerebrovascular disorders that affect children. He conducts research under the mentorship of Dr. Alfred Pokmeng See at Boston Children’s Hospital and serves as the Technology & Data Lead for the Clinical Neurosurgery Research Group at Massachusetts General Hospital (CNRG @ MGH).
Mr. Gal is also interested in expanding access to neurosurgical care in resource-limited settings. To this end, he conducts research related to global neurosurgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is involved with the mission:Brain organization.
